It’s January 2024 and we are halfway through the 2023-2024 performance cycle! It is time for supervisors to meet with their staff for a mid-year performance check-in. This mid-year check-in is not just a formality—it’s a chance to foster an environment of support. Let’s spotlight achievements, recognize successes, and, equally importantly, address areas where additional support may be helpful.
Recommendations: Focus on the status of performance goals and specific projects. Talk about areas of support that are needed. Supervisors, please acknowledge successes and offer guidance for correction and details about development as needed. Your mid-year check-in form is included in the Performance Management and Development Program Form. This is the new excel format form that was released in 2023. Your mid-year notes can be added to the Expectations & Goal Setting tab and/or the Mid-Point Check In tab. Here’s a snippet:
