UndocuPeers Training Friday, April 26

In partnership with the Immigrant Services Program at MSU Denver as well as the Community College of Denver, we are providing the UndocuPeers Training again this year!

This in-person, highly interactive training for faculty and staff will take place on Friday, April 26, 10am-3:30pm, at the Student Commons Building, room 2504. The training features a variety of presenters, topics, activities, and student voices to dispel common myths about undocumented communities. We will look at the regulatory and legal environment that impacts DACA and undocumented individuals on- and off-campus, examine the strengths and challenges of undocumented college students, review key resources and support strategies, and inform and empower ourselves to be effective and inclusive educators. Lunch will be provided!

Since United We Dream brought this training to our campus in 2015, UndocuPeers at MSU Denver has trained over 700 faculty and staff. Last year, most of the faculty and staff that attended the training were from CU Denver and we hope to have the same impact this year. If you are new to CU Denver or have not yet had a chance to attend, we’d love to have you! Please use the link in the flyer to sign up and also to complete a brief pre-training survey. Please reach out to me if questions should come up!

And of course, feel free to share this training opportunity to relevant colleagues. There are a limited number of seats available, so please RSVP soon.
