Dear University Staff & 12-month Faculty: If you were hired before June 19, 2022 and haven’t already used your Juneteenth/ Personal Observance Day for Fiscal Year 2022, please be sure to do so before December 31, 2022.
You might like to refer to the announcement in the May 2nd email from the CU President and the CU Denver News email on May 3rd, which announced that the University of Colorado officially recognized Juneteenth as a state holiday.
Given the proximity of the holiday to our existing summer academic calendars, the university decided to give employees an additional holiday this year as a paid personal day of observance that they can take on Juneteenth or another day of their choosing.
Personal Observance Day for Fiscal Year 2022 should ideally be used by June 30, 2022, but employees have until Dec 31, 2022, to use this day due to the short turn-around since being announced.
To record this time on your MyLeave calendar, use Earnings Code “Personal Observance Day”
Looking ahead– Personal Observance Days for the period July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 can be used between July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 (Fiscal Year 2023).
