LGBTQ+ Faculty Assembly Committee Seeking Members from SEHD

I’m writing in my capacity as the new chair of the LGBTQ+ Faculty Assembly Committee, which reviews, evaluates, and recommends policies affecting the needs of LGBTQ+ faculty and students on our campus. Over the past few years, we have successfully collaborated with various campus stakeholders to extend, for example, benefits to domestic partners regardless of gender/sex, increase the number of gender-neutral restrooms on campus, and support programming for LGBTQ students. This fall, we are also launching a gender-inclusive training for faculty through a pilot program with the College of Arts and Media in our efforts to foster LGBTQ student success and retention. Our committee has historically received wide-spread faculty representation from various schools/colleges across campus. While CLAS has been strongly represented, we’d love to have more LGBTQ+-identifying faculty from the following schools join us: School of Education and Human Development; the School of Public Affairs; College of Engineering, Computing, and Design; as well as the College of Architecture and Planning. I invite you to please share this brief blurb with your faculty and/or directly reach out to folks whom this could be of interest to. The LGBTQ+ Faculty Committee will resume meetings this Fall on the second Friday of every month from 11.00am – 12.00pm MT via Zoom (first meeting Sept. 10).
