Julie L. Stephens de Jonge, PhD, Professor of Spanish at the University of Central Missouri joins the Professors at Play to share her playful pedagogies around Digital Escape Rooms!
Add surprise, curiosity, and mystery to your courses. This workshop will show you how to use an array of digital tools to create a digital escape room experience. The presenter will offer suggestions for framing the activities, either on a small scale (a single activity) or across an entire course, as well as ways to add visual variety to traditional course activities. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using digital resources and there will be how-to demonstrations of ways to use free tools such as the Google Suite to create an interactive experience that reinforces, presents, or practices course material. Examples will also be provided of additional tools that can be purchased to enhance the experience of “escaping”.
