  • Agenda setting for the year:
    • What would the ideal “community” look like?
      • Expectation may be more to advance in all fields rather than reach some endpoint
      • Short-term (this year) and long-term (ongoing, beyond the current committee) vision
      • Next faculty retreat is Nov. 30, which allows time for DC members to meet with program areas and hold various lunch session conversations
  • Deans’ visit:
    • Clarifying charge: Addressing objectives in school diversity plan: culture/climate, diverse representation among students and staff, advancing issues re: diversity and inclusion
