Dane Stickney, associate teaching professor in the ASPIRE to Teach program, recently published an article with an author team spanning the US, UK, and Greece. The article, Humanizing Higher Education: The Role of Participatory, Creative Practices in This Messy Moment, shares artistic and relational strategies that allow students and educators to conduct intergenerational inquiry around societal problems. This article grows out of the Action Research Network of the Americas’ Youth Participation Action Research Community, which Stickney chairs. Other members of the community who served as co-authors include Rachel Kulick at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth; Rachel Radina at Eastern Michigan University; Konstantinos Sipitanos at the University of Crete in Greece; Michelle Vaughn-McGovern at Florida Atlantic University; and Dave McPartlan at the University of Cumbria in the UK.
