Rob Acker, Ph.D. student in LEO, presented at the Future Scholars Forum in Leadership and Policy Studies in Hong Kong, China this week. Rob’s presentation was titled “Finding Comfort in the Discomfort”: Professional Learning in Deeper Learning Schools, and featured an upcoming co-authored article with Dr. Scott McLeod. Their research explored what professional development looks like, from the teacher perspective, in project-and inquiry-based learning schools across the U.S. Rob is fluent in Mandarin, and his summer will continue with a month of in-person teaching in Beijing as part of CU Denver’s partnership with International College Beijing.
