To our LGBTQ+ faculty, staff, and allies,
It is with a heavy heart that we write, yet again, to express our grief about another horrific incident of violence against the LGBTQ+ community. Last weekend, five people lost their lives and at least 25 more were injured in a mass shooting, and reports indicate that the LGBTQ+ community was targeted. We mourn with the Club Q community, especially the trans community, and with the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado Springs, across our four campuses, and around the world.In particular, if anyone needs to talk, we want people to know about low or no cost Therapy Direct services through Wellpower.

Attacks like these are difficult, and they can feel personal and threatening, even if you’re physically far-removed from where they take place. Our trans community is particularly under threat, and we stand with them. Community and allyship create healing, lift us up and power progress. Use your communities—including your CU colleagues—to draw strength and move forward with purpose.
