Arianne Rivera has joined us as the new Student Success Center Director for the School of Education and Human Development at CU Denver. We are incredibly fortunate as Arianne brings a rich set of experiences and incredible talent to the position. See her very cool Visual Bio! Arianne is a proud alum of the University of Colorado at Denver and has over 20 years of experience in the field of PreK-12 Public Education. Most recently, she served as an Equity and Diversity Specialist with the Student Engagement Office for Jeffco Public Schools. Prior to her work as a central administrator, she worked as a teacher’s aide, substitute teacher, classroom teacher, K-6 ESL Teacher/Instructional Coach, and K-12 ESL and Dual Language Resource Teacher.
Arianne is a graduate of Jeffco’s Bear Creek High School and the Senior Field Studies experiential learning program. She has a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Bilingual/ESL Education and meeting the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students. Arianne is currently a doctoral student at CU Denver completing her dissertation research project for the Leadership for Educational Equity program.
Arianne is also proud mama, rafter, and Boricua. She enjoys traveling to her family home in Puerto Rico and being immersed in nature. She is deeply committed to making systems of public education more equitable and just through authentic relationships, brave dialogue, communities of belonging, and transformational learning experiences infused with equity-based pedagogy.
