The School of Education & Human Development is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure track, for the Counseling Program. The mission of the counseling program is to educate competent counselors who value inclusion and prize diversity such that they are prepared to offer a continuum of mental health services across a variety of settings for the benefit of the community and the society.
The successful candidate for this position will:
- Teach graduate courses in the Counseling program. The standard teaching load is 4 classes per year (2/2), including courses in the CACREP core content areas, skills classes and clinical supervision across program areas and specialty courses related to clinical mental health counseling and/or school counseling. Infuse culturally inclusive curriculum and social justice content into all courses.
- Develop and carry out a rigorous research agenda. Engage actively with other faculty in the development and elaboration of the School’s research themes such as equity, urban populations, and cultural diversity.
- Support the ongoing development of the master’s degree in counseling program through program evaluation, using and developing performance-based assessments aligned with CACREP, course development and revision, and activities related to accreditation.
- Provide live and/or virtual clinical supervision within practicum and internship courses as a licensed mental health professional.
- Provide service through committee work and other projects to the program, SEHD, and University and on the state and/or national level
- Support the development and maintenance of partnerships within the greater Denver area community.
