Learn More About the Chancellor’s Registration Challenge. Encourage Students to Register for Classes in Spring 2027 as Early as Possible.

The Chancellor’s Registration Challenge is a university-wide effort to improve student persistence and success by encouraging continuing students to register for the next semester before leaving for winter break. Registering earlier gives students the best opportunity to build a schedule that works for them and gives us more time to identify and address barriers that may be keeping them from registering. Building on last year’s registration rate of 73.2% by finals week, we aim to increase registration to at least 78% by December 7, the first day of final exams.  Spring registration begins October 15 and open enrollment begins on November 2.

To motivate student action, students who register by December 7 will be entered into a drawing for one of ten $500 scholarships. See the eligibility requirements below. Achieving this goal requires a coordinated, campus-wide commitment to making registration a consistent part of student interactions. As you engage with students, you are asked to encourage registration, identify and resolve barriers, and connect students with appropriate resources, including advisors, financial assistance, and Lynx Central. The more consistently we reinforce the importance of registering now, the more students we can help take that next step before the semester ends.
