Presented by Dr. Rachel Stein, PhD, candidate for Assistant Professor, Tenure Track for School Psychology (SPSY)
This research talk will shed light on the critical role school psychologists play in supporting the mental health of young children, emphasizing how early intervention can positively influence lifelong outcomes. Dr. Stein will draw on her previous work, including studies that identify mental health needs in early childhood, scholarship focused on professional training and workforce development, and the transformative potential of early childhood as a catalyst for change. Dr. Stein will also share her vision for future research, offering insights into how the field of school psychology can evolve to better serve our youngest learners.
A brief bio for Dr. Rachel Stein:
Rachel Stein, PhD. is a clinical associate professor in the School Psychology PsyD program at the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to entering her current position, she was a Harris Fellow in infant and early childhood mental health. She is a Licensed Psychologist, credentialed school psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist. Her scholarly work focuses on prevention and early intervention to support mental health, identifying mental health needs in early childhood, and early childhood workforce development.
