SEHD’s Dane Stickney, Julia Kantor, and Liliana Flores Amaro presented the Teachers as Policy Actors Forum on April 6th in the Lawrence Street Center’s Terrace Room. The highly successful event was supported by the CU President’s Teaching Scholars Program and CU’s Timmerhaus Fund.Bethy Leonardi, associate professor of Educational Foundations, Policy, and Practice at CU Boulder delivered the keynote address. Participants discussed the needs, experiences, and points of view of teachers along with state and community stakeholders. Elected officials from the State Board of Education were in attendance. Collectively, they considered shifts to our current educational system together with educational policies.
