Congratulations for our very own Shakira Anderson who was selected as the campus Employee of the Month for September 2023!!! Shakira received several nominations from colleagues in the SEHD. Below are a few examples.
1st Nomination
“Shakira Anderson is a treasured employee. Her dedication to the school, care for colleagues, and her detailed attention to every task renders her more than deserving of this award. Somehow, Shakira makes complex infrastructures work seamlessly. She has the most efficient systems, whether organizational flow charts, calendars with deadlines, or processes for how to solve complicated issues, she is the person who will resolve any problem quickly, cohesively, and professionally. In working with faculty, she treats us with respect, whether its asking for a copy of a syllabi for her storage of data or requesting a schedule review. She asks, she reminds, and she does so in a personable manner. In addition to her efficiency, she balances her professional tasks with personal care. She builds and sustains relationships with her colleagues. And whether we exchange a few words or many words, we know that the task at hand will get completed. She follows up and she considers what is best for students. Her job requires adaptivity to constant change. She recreates courses and shifts students from one section to another to ensure that our courses are equal and do not get canceled. She works behind the scenes while spinning many plates, and she makes it all look easy. We all know it’s not easy. Without a doubt, Shakira Anderson is deserving of this nomination and commendation for all that she does.”

Shakira is intentional and purposeful about the professionalism that she brings to, and provides to SEHD. She is consistently good natured, of quick wit, and quick to smile. And while she is extremely busy she always makes time for anyone who stops by her office for either a quick question or just to say good morning. Shakira has a very important position within our school, ensuring that schedules are well communicated and consistently executed so that students and faculty alike know the time frame for the semester. As well as making sure that the curriculum is aligned, approved, and delivered in a manner representing the high quality of our organization. While I am sure there are many people in our organization worthy of this recognition, I believe that Shakira is the person most deserving for all she does.”
