Dear Colleagues,
Just a reminder about the Chancellor’s announcement that CU Denver will be closed on Monday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth Day. For those who are eligible for holidays, the observation day has already been loaded to your MyLeave calendar. If you had already entered vacation leave, please be sure to delete the vacation hours from your calendar. Click here to review the Chancellor’s email from May 17th: “Update to Holiday Schedule; Campus Will Be Closed on June 19”
What this means for you:
· All faculty, staff, and students will have off on June 19, and the campus will be closed this day.
· Any classes that were scheduled on June 19 have been cancelled, and the Registrar’s Office has reworked the summer schedule to ensure that requisite instructional time is met in the semester.
· If you have already taken your personal observance day this fiscal year, that is fine and no further action is needed on your part. If you have not yet taken your personal observance day, you have until June 30, 2023, to use it.
An update on Holidays & Observances in Fiscal Year 2024 has just been released.
You can view the announcement and the list of holidays for the coming year here: Email from Antonio Farias on June 9, 2023.
Additionally, the Governor has granted state employees an administrative day for Monday, July 3, 2023. At CU Denver, campus will remain open on July 3, and all planned classes will take place to ensure instructional continuity.
Faculty and staff who are eligible for holidays will be granted administrative time off to mark this holiday. If you are not teaching or don’t need to be on campus on July 3, you can take your administrative day on July 3. For everyone else, you can use this time on any day in FY24. Please check in with your supervisor to discuss your schedule for this day.
