Hispanic Serving Research University Alliance Summit: Registration (No Cost) Open

May 1, 2023

Dear Colleague,

We write to you with some exciting news. The Alliance for Hispanic Servicing Research Universities (HSRU), of which we are a participating institution and founding member, is hosting its first summit on May 15, 2023.

The virtual program aims to educate the community about HSRU and our goals. The organization is comprised of Hispanic Serving and R1 (very high research activity) institutions only. So, we are in good company.

We work collaboratively toward two objectives that align with our CU Denver strategic plan goal of being an equity-serving institution. The alliance aims to:

  • double the number of Hispanic doctoral students enrolled at member universities.
  • increase by 20% the Hispanic professoriate at member universities.

Leaders within the alliance – including Chancellor Michelle Marks – will discuss a variety of topics from the origins of the alliance, some of the work already underway, some of the challenges and why our efforts matter, especially now.

We invite you to participate in the summit and ask that you encourage your faculty and staff to do the same. A strong showing from CU Denver will signal strong support and enthusiasm.

The summit is free and runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. our time (MDT). Registration is limited to the first 500 people, but the event
will also be broadcast via YouTube. More details can be found on the registration site.
