The SEHD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is pleased to facilitate a book club for SEHD faculty and staff centered around Creating a Home in Schools (Rios & Longoria, 2021). This book was suggested by a SEHD community member and offers our school community an opportunity to more deeply consider the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and Teachers of Color. We hope that the book and discussion provide space to reflect on how we can be more responsive to sustaining identities while considering potential experiences teacher candidates may encounter. We believe this book is particularly relevant for faculty working in teacher education but has broader implications as well. The discussions will be scheduled the weeks of 4/18 and 4/25 in small groups. We look forward to the conversation and hope you will consider joining us!
