Join us at our Advanced Methods Institute – June 2-4

The inaugural Advanced Methods Institute with a focus on Advancing Culturally Responsive Research and Researchers will be held on June 2-4, 2021 (virtual). Given our current national climate and multiple pandemics, now, more than ever, is a critical moment for qualitative and quantitative researchers alike to consider the ways that their work advances equity and justice. We request that you share this with your colleagues, especially those who are interested in infusing qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research methods with culturally responsive practices.

Keynotes and workshop presenters include award winning scholars, including Drs. Sylvia Hurtado, Patti Lather, Bryant Keith Alexander, Odis Johnson, Jessica Decuir Gunby, Kakali Bhattacharya and more.

Sponsored by the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University, the Advanced Methods Institute provides an opportunity to engage participants in the latest research methodologies that impact the cultural relevance and sustainability of scholarly research in the social-behavioral sciences. The institute will be comprised of a series of nationally recognized keynote speakers and workshops, with each workshop focusing on a methodological issue in a qualitative track (e.g., ethnography, content analysis, discourse analysis) or a quantitative track (e.g., GIS mapping, design considerations, contextual analysis) that will advance the cutting-edge scholarship as well as have key implications for researcher positionality, connecting with schools and communities, and research dissemination.
