Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education granted the CABE Board Award!

The Colorado Association for Bilingual Education granted Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) the CABE Board Award. CLDE is extremely grateful to Dr. Tania Hogan for the nomination. The purpose of the Board Award is to recognize, on behalf of CABE, an individual, group of individuals, or organization for contributions made to the field of Bilingual Education in Colorado. The recipients of the Board Award have demonstrated a strong commitment to advocate for and enhance the development of educational policy and programs that will positively affect learners and communities of linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds.

CLDE was selected to receive this honor because of their work of incorporating the CLDE endorsement as an integral part of students’ BA coursework for elementary teacher education majors. Because of CLDE’s advocacy, leadership, and hard work, CU Denver students can now graduate with their BA, their teacher licensure and a CLDE endorsement all before beginning their first year of teaching. Through the CLDE endorsement, teacher candidates receive a critical foundation in understanding learning and development in multilingual settings. CABE stated that the impact that CLDE is making on our future teachers and our Emerging Bilingual students is remarkable!
