Dr. Rubén Viramontez Anguiano has received the 2018 Outstanding Mentor Award for the CU Denver Campus in recognition of exemplary mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students in research conducted outside the traditional classroom. In the nomination, one of his students commented that, “Dr. Ruben, as his students call him, is a builder – a builder of program, of community, and a co-builder of dreams with his students.”
Rubén will receive the award at the 21st Annual Research and Creative Activities Symposium (RaCAS) on Friday, April 27, 2018 and will receive $500, earmarked to support professionally relevant dissemination of scholarly work by CU Denver undergraduate or graduate students in HDFR. He has also be asked to give a keynote address at RaCAS about his scholarly activities and his philosophy regarding the mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
