Dr. Bud Talbot to speak at Baylor University about Learning Assistant Program

Dr. Bud Talbot has been invited by Baylor University to give talks on the Learning Assistant Program. This program, started initially at CU Boulder, has now been put in place at over 75 institutions across the country for its important work in supporting STEM teaching and learning.   At CU Denver, Learning Assistants are students who have performed well in their science classes and who then return to a previously completed science class in order help facilitate course transformation and learning for the current students. LAs engage with students by answering questions and facilitating discourse around the content.  Bud and his colleagues support about 60-70 LAs per semester semester who then impact about 1500 students each semester (over 3000 students/year).
