In Attendance: Jessica Coon, Rachel Cornelius, Shelley Gomez, Lindsay Harn, Tony Romero, Bridget Sabo

Items Discussed

  • PD Update
    • Bridget researched self defense. Impact self-defense has opportunities
      • 4 hours $1500/20 includes techniques.
        • Drum up support by going door-to-door
        • If we don’t get 15-20, we should bring this up to staff in our next staff meeting.
  • SAC Feedback Form Review
    • Respond to SEHD Pantry idea from Sandy re: food and personal hygiene items for students in need…”staff might like to participate” might be the focus of our response.
      • We’re aware that there is a campus-wide pantry, maybe a fundraiser for that pantry would be the way to go?
  • Budget Update? Dean is back…do we have the official template?
    • Budget has been submitted, but there was some confusion with SEHD finance upon submission.
    • We’re requesting the same budget as last year.
    • Next year, we should send a reminder that we need all fiscal year requests submitted by June 15 (particularly for PD requests).
  • June 17th — 3rd Annual Staff BBQ (debrief)
    • Let’s keep a list of who attends each year to help track numbers
    • Lot of food…
    • Location was better last year (with the tables and pavilions). Take into consideration parking.
    • Rebecca to send out invite to summer BBQ next year to help drum up support.
    • Belleview Park? Other ideas so we can reserve early next February.

        • PD Request Discussion
          • Start with situation at hand, two PD funds to request at large amounts and equitability
          • The concern with if we don’t spend the money, we’ll lose it, also, the fact that we don’t have enough for the fiscal year because it could all get spent very soon
          • SAC budget is part of the PD money
          • Option of only providing for conference fees going forward?
          • What are other sources of funding, SAC feels we’re put in an awkward position when responding to these large requests
        • August 16 – Faculty Retreat (just 10 minutes)
          • Ask for time on the agenda (who we are, snapshots of who we are and what we’ve done, and that elections will be coming up)
          • Ask to be the ones to provide dessert—ice cream bar, thank you to Dorothy and welcome back to Rebecca and start of the new year for all….
      • Elections in the fall, ask Kelly Ragland to gauge interest, Chris R., or whoevs?
