I. GENERAL BUSINESS & REVIEW/DISCUSSIONS:
The committee will rotate a chair for the 2014-2015 year
- Scott will chair for the rest of the semester
- Nancy will assist with chair duties in January
- Nancy will chair during February
- March going forward TBD at a later date
II. COURSE PROPOSAL/REVISION REQUESTS:

Expectations
- Ensure compliance with syllabus requirements
- Fair policies are set in place
- New courses should avoid redundancy and duplication
- Check course rigor and provide suggestions
- Approvals should not be held up due to courses rigor
- Check for differentiation between MA, Ph.D. and Ed.D.
- The goal is for all programs to be viable. Do not hold up course approvals for course size or audience
- SEHD is in the process of renovating the MA program & catalog
- Deactivate old courses from the catalog
- MA Keyword Analysis – used to determine where titles and course descriptions may overlap amongst various MA courses, or to determine if key words are missing
- Committee would like to discuss how student work load for online and hybrid courses are measured
Approved Urban Ecologies Sheila Shannon/Alan Davis
- Program is relying on existing courses instead of building new courses due to program size
- Current MA courses will be used and differentiated for Ph.D. and Ed.D.
- Clarify the assignments for all three courses the differences between MA, Ph.D. and Ed.D.
- Use a consistent syllabi format and structure
- CLDE 7010 – Foundations of LLC
- Unclear about differentiatioN
- Syllabus needs incomplete policy
- CLDE 7160 – Historical, Legal & Cultural Foundation
- Differentiation is unclear and content appears too easy
- Syllabus is missing disability and incomplete policies
- CLDE 7180 – Working Families & Communities
- Computer requirements listed twice on syllabus
- Unclear on Ph.D. and Ed.D. products are
- PhD. content appears too rigorous while Ed.D. may not have enough rigor
- Courses approved providing updated syllabi are submitted to the Committee Chair

- Course will be a 2000 level
- EDFN 2000 – Critical Race Feminism & Education
- Course will be part of the University Core for Humanities
- Suggested adding a phrase or bullet points so the course is inviting to men
- Clarify attendance policy and operationalize participation points
- Check for minor typos in the syllabus
- Add current SEHD policies in syllabus (incomplete, disabilities)
- Course is approved providing syllabus updates are submitted to the Committee Chair
- Course will need to go through the Core Curriculum Committee for final approval
