I. GENERAL BUSINESS & REVIEW/DISCUSSIONS: 9:30 am – 10:00 am:

  • Elect a Chair
    • The committee would like to meet with Dean Kantor and Dean Garrison-Wade to discuss the purpose of the chair.
    • Committee brought up possibly rotating chairs
  • Discuss the purpose and function of the committee
    • Locate the current Curriculum Committee Charge

    • Required for HDFR majors
  • HDFR 4090/5090 – Skills for Helping Professions
    • Clarify the differences between 4000 level and 5000 level
    • Add most current textbooks to syllabus
    • The Skilled Helper – 10th Edition
    • Exercise in Helping Skills – 9th Edition
    • Skilled Helping Around the World – 2005 Edition
    • Add supplemental texts/manuscripts from the field to timeline

  • The committee would like working documents for knowledge base and key criteria items
    • Specifics on participation points on course syllabi
    • Course syllabi – should the SEHD approved syllabus be used or the Provost approved syllabus
  • Add all curriculum committee documents in one centralized location (i.e. syllabus template, new course approval form, GFA letters of recommendation, etc.)
  • Would like to find a common agreement on what forms should be submitted for new certificates, tracks, concentrations, etc.
