New Multicultural Mentoring Training Series

Hello CU Faculty!

We are excited to offer a comprehensive Multicultural Mentoring Training program for faculty members!  This training is designed to enhance cultural awareness and equip faculty with the skills necessary to effectively mentor diverse bodies of faculty and students.  Participants will engage in interactive modules that cover key topics such as cultural competency, inclusive communication strategies, and addressing unconscious bias.  By completing this training, faculty will be better prepared to foster an inclusive and supportive academic environment, ultimately contributing to the success and well-being of all faculty on campus.  A certificate of completion will be issued to participants who complete all three sessions of this offering.

Join us in the important initiative to promote diversity, equity and inclusion on our campus!

Writing Affinity Groups

Are you interested in being part of a group of colleagues to support your scholarly work, creative endeavors, or writing? If so, consider a Writing Affinity Group. Writing Affinity Groups are faculty members who are grouped by a shared goal, identity, or other characteristic. Each Writing Affinity Group determines how often to meet, when to meet, and how the time will be spent. Groups often support each other through accountability, shared time writing together, or as a place for discussion and problems solving around writing and scholarly activities. Some groups meet weekly, others monthly, or quarterly. Some groups are bonded by a shared identity (e.g., BIPOC faculty), others a preferred time of day to work (e.g., morning writers), a career phase (e.g., early career), or a type of scholarly activity (e.g., creative works). If you do not see a group theme that aligns with your needs, we welcome additional ideas as well! In short, these groups are self-governed and meant to help support YOUR scholarly and writing needs amongst like-minded peers.

Currently the Center for Faculty Development is collecting information from anyone who is interested in a Writing Affinity Group. If you think you would benefit or appreciate being part of a group of colleagues to support your writing or scholarly work, consider signing up.
