The Teacher Education Program is very excited to welcome Andrea Dillard as the new Program Director for the Para-to-Teacher Advancement Pathway (P-TAP). This pathway is our newest job-embedded teacher preparation pathway designed for full-time working paraprofessionals and allows them to utilize their para position to meet the expectations for clinical experience to earn a bachelor’s degree and teaching license in ECE, ELEM or SPED. We are currently piloting the program this year with St. Vrain Valley School District through the ON grant we supported the district with, but expect the pathway to expand quickly to other districts across the state.
Andrea comes to us with over 30 years experience as a bilingual teacher, instructional coach, and school and district administrator in both DPS & Jeffco. She also taught abroad in Mexico and Venezuela. Most recently she was the Assistant Director of Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education in Jeffco Public Schools. She is also an alum of SEHD having earned her C&I MA in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. Learn more about Andrea and her family through her visual bio she created to share with our partners and P-TAP students. Andrea’s office is LSC 616—please stop by to say hello!
