We are sorry to report that retired SEHD faculty member Mike Martin, passed away on October 3rd at age 81 at his home in Boulder. Mike joined the educational administration faculty (previously ALPS, now LEO) in 1974 when the program was at the Boulder campus and transferred to CU Denver when the program moved to this campus. During his long career, Dr. Martin was a national leader in educational administration. On campus, he taught and inspired hundreds of graduate students in educational administration and was a caring, widely respected and loved faculty member. Prior to retiring in 2004, Mike also served as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. Alan Davis, a long-time friend and neighbor, describes Mike as “a bigger-than-life character who loved life, enjoyed his work at the university, and played hard.” We send our condolences to his family and loved ones.
