Designing for Belonging Workshops

In many college classrooms, accessibility is often treated as something that happens after a challenge arises. In this two-part workshop series, we explore a proactive approach to inclusive teaching for diverse learners and neurotypes that begins with course design. We will consider how small design choices—from syllabus language to course organization to classroom norms—shape students’ sense of belonging and ability to engage in learning. Participants will explore practical strategies for creating more inclusive learning environments, reflect on their own course design decisions, and leave with ideas they can apply in their own teaching. Join us for one or both of the one-hour Zoom sessions!
