Are you ready to trade in your lecture hall for a mountain lodge? To gather with curious, creative educators who believe learning should be as joyful as it is transformative? Join us for the Professors at Play Playposium 2025 taking place June 23–26 at the University of Denver’s Kennedy Mountain Campus.
We’re thrilled to announce that Stuart Brown’s National Institute for Play has teamed up with Professors at Play and Unlikely Collaborators to co-create this year’s Playposium—an immersive gathering at the intersection of retreat, workshop, and conference… with plenty of space for outdoor adventure and soul-filling restoration.
What is a Playposium, you ask?
It’s not your average academic conference. It’s a playful, purposeful, and powerful experience designed for higher ed faculty, educators, and play professionals who want to:

- Explore the science and practice of play in learning, leadership, and well-being
- Engage with hands-on experiences, thought-provoking keynotes, and collaborative workshops
- Reflect on how play disrupts rigid systems, expands creativity, and shifts the “Perception Box” we all carry
- Reconnect—with yourself, your colleagues, and the reason you started teaching in the first place
This year, we’re bringing the Playposium to the Colorado Rockies, just outside of Denver. Expect meaningful conversation, belly laughs, fresh mountain air, and maybe even a s’more or two.

Cost: $1000 — Includes round-trip transportation from DU to the Kennedy Mountain Campus, lodging, all meals, programming, and activities. (And yes, we think it’s a steal too.)
