  1. GENERAL BUSINESS & REVIEW/DISCUSSIONS:

Curriculum Committee Orientation with Deans Garrison-Wade and Lynn

  • Shared with the deans the processes the committee worked on last year and projects the committee will continue this year:
    • Streamlined the instructor review process, created new templates for new and renewal appointments.
    • Created a syllabus review feedback form to summarize the committee’s conversation with faculty. This is a way to lay out expectations and next steps for faculty and the committee.
  • The committee was asked to provide guidance for AI in the syllabus template
    • Received an example from CLAS how they are addressing AI in their syllabus.
  • SEM form and role of CC
    • Continue conversations with committee and leadership to clarify roles.
    • The CC will meet with the leadership team to discuss program/certificate approvals.
  • 5-year review,
    • Each program comes up with an internal process.
    • What is the committee role?
    • Where does this fit with other university processes, i.e. program reviews at the university level, for accreditation, or reauthorization.
    • Build a “look fors” document for faculty.

The committee will reserve the 1st Monday meeting for reviews and approvals, and 3rd Monday is for CC business a deeper dive into processes.

 

  2. COURSE PROPOSAL/REVISION REQUESTS:

Pending       INTE 7140 Integration Design Justice         Joni Dunlap

  • Course will be required for the MA/Leadership for LDT certificate and the Design for Professional Learning, EdD.
  • The focus on design justice is needed, this course will fill an important gap.
  • A possible interest for STEM students in the future.
  • Will need to cross list the course at the MA level, committee is waiting on MA differentiation and updated syllabus for official approval.

 

 

Approved  CMFT 5929 Internship I in CFT        Rashmi Gangamma

  • Splitting the current CMFT 5930 Internship into two courses, this will not change the program structure or duration.
  • This will help with assigning students to the appropriate clinical experiences at the sites.
  • Update prerequisite for CMFT 5930, to require CMFT 5929.
