The Center for African & African American Studies Graduate Student Fellowship Program (aka the “CAAAS Grad Fellows Program”) provides support and scholarly community for University of Colorado Boulder graduate students conducting research and creative work in African studies, African American studies, and African diaspora studies. Co-sponsored by the CAAAS and CU Libraries, the CAAAS Grad Fellows Program hosts a series of “Lunch & Learn” conferences (aka, “CAAAS Grad Fellows Conferences”) throughout the academic year. The CAAAS launches graduate research fellowship with support from the University Libraries
To support CU Boulder graduate students doing research in these multidisciplinary areas, the Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) has teamed up with University Libraries and the Graduate School to sponsor a fellowship program that connects selected students with a dedicated librarian and provides a stipend to cover additional research expenses.

2025-2026 CAAAS Faculty Fellowship Program Call for Applications: Opens October 15, 2024, and Closes December 1, 2024
The Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) invites faculty working in African studies, African American studies, and/or African diaspora studies at the University of Colorado Boulder to apply for the CAAAS Faculty Fellowship. The purpose of the CAAAS Faculty Fellowship Program is to provide University of Colorado Boulder faculty with a research and/or creative work semester off from teaching so that they can focus fully on a major African studies, African American studies, and/or African diaspora studies project.
