However, achieving this goal requires more than just rhetoric; it demands concrete actions to ensure accessibility for all members of the academic community. This presentation delves into the significance of developing accessibility initiatives within higher education settings to foster a culture of belonging. We will explore the various dimensions of accessibility, including physical, digital, and socio-cultural aspects, and how each contributes to creating an inclusive campus environment.

CU Boulder’s Digital Accessibility Office will be hosting a Digital Accessibility Symposium on October 3rd between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (in-person) with subsequent Zoom workshops Oct 14 – 18. We hope to create a space where we can share ideas, approaches, and concerns that lead to actionable steps and processes for implementing accessibility needs on our campuses. During the day, we will conduct sessions focusing on different aspects of digital accessibility, such as training, testing, captioning, and policy.
