Nominations for Academic Management Institute (AMI), Colorado Network of Women Leaders 2024-25

The 38th annual Academic Management Institute (AMI) for women in higher education will be held in person during the 2024-2025 academic year. AMI is the signature leadership training program of the Colorado -Wyoming Network of Women Leaders (CWNWL), a regional affiliate of the American Council on Education.  Please see the information, below, about the 2024-2025 program.  If you are interested in nominating someone, please reach out to Dean Lynn as soon as possible.  Please also note the following information about the program and nomination process.
There is funding to support one participant each from CU Denver and CU Anschutz.
Nominations should include: the attached application form; a curriculum vita or resume for the nominee; the nominator’s name and position; and a brief paragraph from the nominator supporting the nomination.
Faculty, staff, and administrators are eligible. Nominees should show promise for leadership progression at the University of Colorado Denver I Anschutz Medical Campus, or in higher education in general, and should be able to commit to attending each session during the 2024-2025 academic year.
The AMI suggests that candidates with at least 5-7 years of higher education experience and supervisory or leadership experience gain the most from the program, as they can contextualize and apply lessons immediately.
A small group of former AMI participants will review the nominations and select one participant from each campus.
Please share this announcement with department chairs, directors, and other unit heads who may wish to nominate someone, to ensure as diverse a pool of nominees as possible.
AMI 2024-2025 includes five face-to-face sessions (two are overnight sessions) that feature presentations and workshops delivered by higher education leaders and experts from Colorado and Wyoming. The program is built around fostering a cohesive cohort dynamic, enabling participants to hone their leadership acumen while forging connections with peers across the region. Session topic themes are: Leading in Ever-Changing Higher Education; Campus Cultures; Strengths Development; and the Future of Higher Education. Over the year, participants complete a project of their own design that contributes to their home school/college or university. For more information, see: https://cwnwl.org.
