New Book Chapter on Intersectionality in Academic Advising by Dr. Geneva Sarcedo

Dr. Geneva Sarcedo, program director for Call Me MISTER and academic advisor in the School of Education & Human Development at University of Colorado Denver, has a new book chapter in Differentiated Academic Advising Strategies for Students Beyond the Margins, edited by Drs. Valerie Thompson and Jean Patterson. The first chapter in the edited volume, Dr. Sarcedo’s chapter uses a counterstory to explore intersectionality in academic advising. Dr. Penny A. Pasque called the book “a must read for academic advisors who care about culturally responsive approaches to advising… [that] invites readers to connect culturally responsive theory, research, and practice in our daily work.” The book is available from Rowman & Littlefield Publishers and Amazon.
