CU Denver Pride Month Events

Wednesday, June 12 – Pride Month Photo Op

Show your support from our LGBTQ+ community. We know some of you may not be participating in the Pride Parade or 5K but would like to show your support. That’s why we are hosting a fun picture opportunity on June 12 at the Benson Terrace, near the Recreation and Wellness Center by the Lynx statute. Everyone is invited to be in the photo, LGBTQ+ community members and allies alike. Please wear your CU Denver gear if you have it. We will provide some Pride flags for those who want to pose with them. The photo will be CU Denver specific and will be shared on social media in the days leading up to the parade. No need to RSVP, just show up. We encourage you to participate and bring a friend.

Saturday, June 15 – Juneteenth Music Parade

CU Denver is looking for volunteers to march as part of a CU system group in the annual Juneteenth Music Parade. The invitation is open to all CU Denver employees and students. Participants will gather no later than 10:30 and the walk is about a mile. Those who sign up will get details in a follow up email. The first 100 registrants get a free commemorative t-shirt. Sign up by filling out the form.

Saturday and Sunday June 22-23 – Pride Parade

We hope you have seen the emails inviting you to volunteer for the Pride Parade on June 22. This is an effort that the CU system organizes annually, and each campus has representation. There is the annual parade through downtown Denver and a 5K, which CU Denver has co- sponsored this year through the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Collectively we also staff a CU booth during the two-day event. The deadline to sign up for volunteering is tomorrow. Fill out the form if you’d like to volunteer.
