Congratulations to SEHD faculty members Jennifer Camacho Taylor, Kathryn Schamu, and Joshua Martin who have been named Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) Faculty Fellows. We are honored to have SEHD team members strongly represented in this excellent group of faculty and look forward to the positive impact they will have this year on our campus.
Dr. Camacho Taylor has committed to designing community-building spaces for instructors, empowering them to address social/political responsiveness in their classrooms. Research shows that students feel a greater sense of belonging and mattering when such issues are acknowledged by their university. She hopes this work will lead to collaborative events with other units, and will aid in the proposal of an equity and education conference.
Schamu and Martin proposed a joint project. They will examine current student feedback protocols across the university at the undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels as well as co-design guidelines/frameworks with faculty members that result in cultivating transformative, inclusive feedback experiences for all students.
The fellowships each include a $2,000 stipend.
Well done, Jennifer, Kate and Josh!
