I. GENRAL BUSINESS & REVIEW/DISCUSSIONS:

Discussion with Deal Lynn:

  • Is the committee an advisory or decision making committee
  • The purpose of the SEM (Strategic Enrollment Management) and Curriculum Committee (CC) regarding decisions on new certificates, concentrations, etc.
    • Define roles for next steps for CC and SEM.
    • What role does the CC play in approving curriculum? Campus governance leaders agree curriculum should be approved by faculty.
    • CLAS has a laid-out governance structure, would like to review for ideas.
    • Modify our structure to align with regents’ law.
    • What will the make-up of the committee look like? There is concern about increasing workloads.
    • Would like to see other examples from other schools and colleges.
    • Work on a process over the summer, clarify what we might propose to line up with regents’ governance structures.
