I. GENRAL BUSINESS & REVIEW/DISCUSSIONS:
Discussion with Deal Lynn:
- Is the committee an advisory or decision making committee
- The purpose of the SEM (Strategic Enrollment Management) and Curriculum Committee (CC) regarding decisions on new certificates, concentrations, etc.
- Define roles for next steps for CC and SEM.
- What role does the CC play in approving curriculum? Campus governance leaders agree curriculum should be approved by faculty.
- CLAS has a laid-out governance structure, would like to review for ideas.
- Modify our structure to align with regents’ law.
- What will the make-up of the committee look like? There is concern about increasing workloads.
- Would like to see other examples from other schools and colleges.
- Work on a process over the summer, clarify what we might propose to line up with regents’ governance structures.
II. COURSE PROPOSAL/REVISION REQUESTS:

- Provides flexibility for students, helps with financial aid

- Resubmitting to address committee’s feedback (adjust levels of reading for undergrads, focus readings on non-K-12 classroom settings)
- Course taken during students senior year, may want to add course requisites

Title: Teaching Young Bilingual Children
- Part of the new grant funded certificate Teaching Young Bilingual Children
- How will the course continue after the grant ends? An elective for the PPMA in early childhood or CLDE

Title: Messing About with STEM
- New UG course to cross list with the current graduate course, MA partnership with Boulder Journey
- Provides more summer course options for undergrads in placed based, TPREP and P-TEACH pathways
