From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention & Control (DFPC) will host a Community Risk Reduction event outside the Tivoli Student Union near the bandshell. There will be a brief live fire demonstration at noon where a controlled burn of a small, simulated home will take place, staffed by fire fighters, two fire trucks, and professionals from the DFPC. This will demonstrate how a closed door often protects occupants during a fire. Additional representatives from Denver Fire, Aurora Fire, Colorado State Patrol, and the South Metro Safety Foundation will also be on hand for this event.
