CU-Denver’s School of Education and Human Development has been key in bringing together youth researchers from Colorado, Greece, to discuss, present, and publish their work. Dane Stickney (clinical assistant professor in ASPIRE), master’s student Milahd Makooi, and students in Makooi’s middle-school class have been regularly meeting synchronously and asynchronously with youth researchers and educators in Crete, Greece.
The group shares a bond over youth participatory action research (YPAR), which positions young people as vital researchers, policymakers, and social agents of change.
