We hope that you will utilize (by participating, exploring, and sharing) these events, practices and resources during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM 2023), Women’s History Month (WHM 2023), and during Ramadan (March 22-April 20, 2023).
Religious Observances: Putting commitment into action during Ramadan

Ramadan Kareem to all our CU Denver faculty, staff, and students

The month-long holiday of Ramadan began at sunrise on Wednesday, March 22nd for the Muslim community.
During Ramadan, acknowledge students’ need to pray, which may occur during class time (there are 5 designated times for prayer throughout the day). Let them know where in the building there is a designated location for prayers during Ramadan.
The following spaces have been reserved for prayer during the month of Ramadan:
· CU Denver Student Commons Building #2109
Please check-in at the Center of Identity & Inclusion (#2007) for room access
· CU Denver Business School #2300
Monday through Thursday 8:00 am – 9:00 pm (not available on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm – 9:15 pm). If this door is locked, you can ask the security at the front desk to unlock the room.
· CU Denver Lawrence Street Center #1232
· North Classroom Building #1612
· CU Denver Learning Commons #2241 (Weld Conference Room)
From SEHD’s EDI Office
In addition to the above, SEHD faculty and staff are encouraged to facilitate student and class discussions about any supports or needs during Ramadan. Such dialogue acknowledges the importance of inclusive practice and belonging during a global time of holy observance and encourages students to observe their religious practice while also inviting them to let you know of additional approaching holidays or accommodations needs.
Resources for Students
The Center for Identity and Inclusion has developed an electronic form for students to fill out in order to request accommodations for Ramadan: https://ucdenver.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9NAMTbh8nk5O9gO.
