Religious Observances: Putting Commitment into Action

The month-long holiday of Ramadan begins at sunrise on Wednesday, March 22nd for the Muslim community.
During Ramadan, acknowledge students’ need to pray, which may occur during class time (there are 5 designated times for prayer throughout the day). Let them know where in the building there is a designated location for prayers during Ramadan.

The following spaces have been reserved for prayer during the month of Ramadan:

CU Denver Student Commons Building #2109

Please check-in at the Center of Identity & Inclusion (#2007) for room access

CU Denver Business School #2300

Monday through Thursday 8:00 am – 9:00 pm (not available on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm – 9:15 pm). If this door is locked, you can ask the security at the front desk to unlock the room.

CU Denver Lawrence Street Center #1232

North Classroom Building #1612

CU Denver Learning Commons #2241 (Weld Conference Room)

Facilitate a class discussion about approaching holidays, the importance of inclusive practice and belonging, and encourage students to observe their religion practice while also inviting them to let you know of additional approaching holidays or accommodations needs.
