We hope that you will utilize (by participating, exploring, and sharing) these events and resources during Black History Month (BHM2023).

This week’s focus is on the experiences of Black community members.

UPCOMING BROADCAST ON RMPBS – AWADAGIN PRATT BLACK IN AMERICA

Colorado on Rocky Mountain PBS, Channel 6 on Thursday, February 9th at 7:30 PM. 

The documentary film, Awadagin Pratt: Black in America is broadcasting nationally on PBS through NETA, and features world-renowned pianist Awadagin Pratt. The premise of the film is, you are never too famous to escape racism and racial profiling.

CII has some amazing Black History Month Events happening. This week’s event is Workplace Equity Summit on February 9th from 3:00 – 6:00 in the Students Commons, 2000. Connect with diversity, equity, and inclusion employers from various industries. This is a great way to meet some of our Black student organization leaders in African Student Union (ASU)Black Girl Equity Alliance (BGEA), and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). The museum is now open for limited, scheduled slots by appointment only, no walk-ins permitted. All regular tours are self-guided.  Guided tours require special arrangements. Please contact the museum at (720) 242-7428 to make a reservation.
