Kristie Kauerz, Executive Director of the National P-3 Center and Associate Clinical Professor in LEO, keynoted the Alaska Superintendents’ Association Fall Conference in Homer, AK, on September 29, 2022. The Alaska state legislature recently passed a law establishing universal preschool across the state, as well as introducing a new statewide strategy for 3rd grade reading. Kristie’s presentation, “Early Learning and Early Literacy: Connecting the Dots,” addressed the role of school districts in supporting the preschool through 3rd grade continuum (P-3).
