  • Title: Introduction to Play Therapy
  • The Counseling program currently has a Counseling Children, Adolescents and their Parents (COUN 6140) course. COUN 6140 offers a broad overview of working with youth
  • Intro to Play Therapy will dive deeper into understanding and working therapeutically with small children (3-10)
  • Play Therapy will be a counseling elective, and could be offered to licensed counselors in the community who are seeking training in play therapy

  • The conversation focused on course syllabi, and the importance of a standardized template
    • The committee will work on aligning syllabus templates and making the templates more accessible
    • How can the committee be intentional about the SEHD strategic plan when reviewing syllabi
    • 5-year syllabi review
      • Reviewing for DEI in all syllabi
      • What additional support is needed? Collaborate with the DEI committee and the Assoc Dean of EDI
