Dear faculty colleagues,
As you may have heard from teri engelke, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at CU Denver, 9-month faculty contract pay dates will shift to align with the academic year. For academic year 2022-2023, pay dates will be August 15, 2022 through May 12, 2023 (faculty are expected to start work one week before classes begin each semester). August 2022 will be the first month faculty will see this change in paychecks.
This change will only apply to CU Denver 9-month faculty, including tenured and tenure-track faculty, Instructors, and Clinical Teaching Track faculty at this time. A similar pay date shift for Lecturers, GPTIs, and TAs is in discussion for a future semester, but timing depends on an HR system update.
Here is what the changes will look like—
9 pay 9: Partial paycheck in August (start date is week before classes begin), equal paychecks between September and April, partial paycheck in May (end date is commencement).
9 pay 12: Partial paycheck in August (start date is week before classes begin), equal paychecks between September and July, partial paycheck in August (end date is the Friday before the AY 2023-24 contract starts).
Faculty are still eligible for summer pay up to the limits of 1/9 of AY salary per month, totaling 3/9 of AY salary during summer. Summer contracts will run mid-May through mid-August, but not necessarily the entire three months.
As usual, if you would like to change your election from 9 pay 9 to 9 pay 12 or vice versa, the election form will be available in the UCD Access Portal. This year it will be available from May 2 – July 15, 2022.
Important Dates
May 2 – July 15, 2022 at 5pm: Faculty Election Period
August 2022 – First paycheck with this change
May 2023 – Partial month paycheck for those on 9 pay 9
August 2023 – Partial month paycheck for those on 9 pay 12. Will also receive a partial month paycheck for the AY 23-24 contract.
