– Presented by Chélynn Randolph, candidate for Assistant Professor, Clinical Teaching Track for Couples & Family Therapy (CFT)   

During the presentation Dismantling Mental Health Treatment Barriers, Chélynn will share with the audience her journey to the profession of couple/marriage and family therapy, her clinical experiences, and her teaching and supervision philosophies. Chélynn will also discuss how her research on Black American emerging adults and their experiences with barriers to mental health treatment has impacted her clinical work and teaching goals.  

A brief bio for Chélynn Renay Randolph: 

Chélynn Randolph is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the marriage and family therapy (MFT) doctoral program at Florida State University located in Tallahassee, FL. In 2016 she graduated from East Carolina University, located in her hometown of Greenville, NC, with a Bachelor of Science degree in family and community services with a concentration in family studies. Chélynn went on to attend Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and received a Master of Arts degree in MFT and a certificate in systemic multicultural counseling in 2018. At Florida State Chélynn conducts research that highlights the experiences of people of color in therapy and the barriers they encounter while trying to access mental health treatment. She also provides therapy to the community at her private practice Beyond Barriers Counseling and Consulting, LLC.
