GENERAL BUSINESS & REVIEW/DISCUSSIONS:

  1. 5-year syllabi review
    • Diversity Committee reviewed syllabus guidelines. The committee will make edits according the Diversity Committee’s comments – complete
  • The guidelines, or discussion points will be presented at the program leaders meeting – complete
    • Committee will confirm the steps, and timeline for the final review process – completed steps on 3/1, emailed to dean Kantor for approval
  1. Schedule a meeting with HR and Dorothy, to work on an improvement to the lecturer hiring process (Feb 15, 2021)
    • HR met with program leaders to review hiring process approval timelines, and the open candidate lecturer pool
    • HR updated the New Hire Formstack to include Future Hires
  2. The CC will develop a statement to bring to the faculty to review that defines the roles and responsibilities of the committee, its relationship with faculty, and preferred processes etc.
    • Statement is part of the 5-Year Syllabi Review Guidelines
  1. Syllabus Policy Review (Educational Policy & Planning Committee)
  • The Educational Policy & Planning Committee ask the CC to review the current university syllabus template
  • Goal is remove boilerplate policy language and find ways to shorten and simplify the document

    • Title: ProSeminar I in Child, Youth & Family Studies
    • Revised HDFR 7010 to cross list with EDUC/ECED 7011, and revised the title to incorporate ECE policy

 

  • HDFR/ECED/EDUC 7020
    • Title: ProSeminar II in Child, Youth & Family Studies
    • Course supports students in research agenda, ethics of research, refining writing and presentation skills

 

  • HDFR/ECED/EDUC 7030
    • Title: ProSeminar III in Child, Youth & Family Studies
    • Course is designed to help prepare students for the second part of comprehensive exams, dissertation and life on the academic job market

    • The first of two courses, this course focuses on the core concepts of the NM, presented in context of the educational system

    • Second course of the Graduate School Credential, course is designed to facilitate the use of the NM in education in the school setting
