I had the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Writing Retreat put on by Center for Faculty Development this past weekend in Frasier Colorado. We were a group of 11 faculty across many subject areas, including modern languages, mathematics, psychology, business, architecture and ethno-musicology. There were four blocks (3-4 hours) of devoted writing time as well as group check-ins and individual writing conferences led by Sarah Hagelin of the English department. It was an inspiring, enriching and exhausting experience! The Center for Faculty Development plans to offer these writing retreats once a semester.
